Introducing Carnegie Mellon University's new premier cultural organization, Mayur South Asian Student Alliance. In its second year after the merger of CMU's Mayur, mainly a cultural group, and SASA (South Asian Student Association), known for its social events, MayurSASA will serve as the sole driving force to bring the rich culture of South Asia to the campus and community.

Welcome! We are proud to present to you the Mayur South Asian Student Alliance, or MayurSASA for short, of Carnegie Mellon University. MayurSASA is the premier South Asian student organization on campus. MayurSASA is also one of the biggest organizations in CMU with over 300 members. Below are some quick facts to get acquainted with MayurSASA:

 

Formed in 2007 from two longstanding cultural organizations at CMU, Mayur and SASA. Learn more here.

 

Has 13 officers who run most events. Three of these officers are Freshman Representatives chosen in the Fall. Learn more about the officers here.

 

In its inception year, MayurSASA organized: 6 parties, 1 late night, 2 sports tourneys, 1 week of pakistani awareness, 5 Bollywood movie screenings, 1 relay for life team, 1 formal dinner, 1 diwali extravaganza, 1 BOOTH, and 1 cultural show entitled Mellon Masala with 700+ in audience and 100+ performers... wait until you what we have in store this year!
